One Pan Baked Ziti

Ingredients List

Meats

  • 1/2 lb Ground sausage
  • 1/2 lb Ground beef
  • 2 tsp Olive oil
  • 10-12 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper

    Sauce

  • 29 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 16 oz can tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbls dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano leaves

    Pasta

  • 6 C water
  • 24 oz ziti pasta (or similar)

    The Cheese

  • 1 C Half and Half
  • 1 C Grated parmesan cheese
  • black pepper to taste
  • 2 C shredded mozzarella cheese

    Directions

      Meats

    1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees
    2. Add olive oil to a deep, 12-inch or larger, oven-safe skillet, over medium heat. Add meats and cook until browned.
    3. Add the garlic and crushed red papper flaces to the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes.

      Sauce

    4. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce,, dried basil, and oregano. Stir will. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 5-10 minutes

      Pasta

    5. Add the water and dry pasta. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat to a low boil and cook, stirring occationally, for about 10-15 minutes or until noodles are tender.

      Cheese

    6. Stir in Hald and Half, and parmesan cheese and seaons with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly on top. I like to add a little Italian Seasoning to the top.
    7. Transfer the skillet ot the oven and bake until the cheese melts and borwned. About 5 minutes.
